Happy Birthday Mark-Paul Gosselaar! (March 1)

How many of us used to squeal when we heard the lyrics “It’s all right ‘cause I’m saved by the bell,” and got dreamy-eyed when prankster “Zack Morris” got into his regular antics? Who would have thought that this same mischievous wild child (at least he played one on television) would grow up to play a cop on police drama “N.Y.P.D. Blue”? (That seems to be a rite-of-passage, since former child actor Rick Schroder also played a cop on “Blue.”) So where did this heartthrob get his studly looks from? His parents are Dutch and Indonesian; makes you wonder if Mark-Paul wooed his wife in the Dutch tongue? With one child and another on the way, let’s hope his kids won’t give him a taste of prankster antics like those he dished out regularly on “Saved by the Bell.”
