If you’re a fan of the stage you’ve probably heard of Bernadette Peters. Even if you’re not a fan of musicals you’ve probably seen her. This curly-haired woman may be petite but her voice is mega-sized! Her vocals and personality can adapt to so many scenarios, it’s no wonder she holds the title of being the youngest performer to be inducted into the Theater Hall of Fame. She’s performed in such theatricals as Into the Woods, Gypsy,” and Sunday in the Park with George. You haven’t lived until you’ve heard her duet with “Dukes of Hazzard” star Tom Wopat, singing “Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better,” from the Broadway revival of Annie Get Your Gun. And who can forget her lively bantering with Steve Martin in the hilarious film “The Jerk”? If you still can’t place her face, think back to the early 80’s when she starred in cahoots with Miss Hannigan as Rooster’s girlfriend, Lily, in the film “Annie.” A word of practical advice from Berndette: “You've gotta be original, because if you're like someone else, what do they need you for?”
